A crucial question for real estate agents: Are You Really Open for Business?

Let me explain to you what I mean by that. So as a real estate agent, are you open for business? Meaning when your phone rings pretty much, no matter when it is, are you answering it? Do you have a system for getting it answered? If it’s not you, meaning is there a backup plan? Somebody calls your phone number or a marketing phone number that you have on your stuff, and if you’re not able to pick it up, someone else does, meaning you’re still open for business even if you’re not answering.

Here’s another version of that. Are you open for business? Do you have ads running marketing, ads running that are generating leads for you? The ads are running all the time. You never turn them off because you see, if you turn them off, you pause them.

You do it sometimes and not the other. You’re not always open for business. Your marketing can never stop if you’re truly open for business. And another one could be, are you remarketing to people? What does that mean exactly? If you’re truly open for business, you have remarketing advertising separate from generating new leads where the current leads, the old leads you’ve generated are constantly, again, seeing your messaging, seeing your ads, meaning you’re always open for business, there’s always stuff happening for you on behalf of you without you doing it all.

Another great one to think about your email marketing. If you don’t have constant, consistent email marketing running to your list of people who your leads, your past clients, your sphere of influence, where that’s almost running with very little effort from you, then you’re not always open for business. You’ve got to get this stuff out there.

It’s one of the things that I think we do really well inside of our team and for the members of our team is we constantly have these things running. No matter who shows up on any given day or what day of the week it is, or what month it is, this stuff runs nonstop.
